Next General Meeting
The next General Meeting will be held during
out Annual Picnic on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 3 PM at the
Ozark Campgrounds. There will be a short meeting before the
Picnic.
FROM THE PRESIDENT'S DESK
A Message From Barbara Allen
BRAVO! What a great picnic. I know I sent out a email about
this already but it is still worth tooting our horns over such a
great job. It was so much like the picnics from years ago that
we all went to. The only thing that could have made it better
would have been if it was a little cooler. I am going to have to
get some of the recipes from you guys.
At this next general meeting we are going to discuss having volunteers to
help at the Baxter Country Fair, Turkey Trot and Harvest fest. Of course that
will mean that we need members to bake doggie cookies to sell.
See you at the meeting.

Gordon Watkins and Norma Smart as the non-board members. A) The Committee shall

before September 15th notify each member in writing or electronically of the

his/her name is proposed, and provided further that if the proposed candidate is

New AKC Obedience Class Title
Beginner Novice (BN) - all on leash, heeling pattern uses rally signs to do
left and right turn, fast and slow, about turn and halts. Sit for exam, sit stay
drop lead and walk perimeter of ring and back to dog (do independently not as
group), recall and figure 8.
This class is designed to allow for the transition from rally to obedience. I
think it will be a great transitionary class especially for beginners. ~ Sherry

Annual “B” Match
Our Annual all-breed, obedience & rally match is scheduled January 22 at the Fairgrounds in Harrison. Cj L. Titus will be
match chair with Kay Woodworth as secretary. C.J. Foster will run concessions.
Two club members who have not judged before at our match have been assigned for
the toy group and non-sporting group.
If any club member would like to judge at the match, please let me know ASAP.
For anyone thinking of becoming a judge, match assignments are a must. While
judging your own breed is really fun, you can also really learn a lot judging
other breeds in your group. This helps break down the breed standard when
looking back to your own breed as you learn what makes each breed different, and
why the same. We will need volunteers for stewarding for both conformation
and obedience, set up and tear down of equipment and mats, making and bringing
cookies, brownies, and other treats to sell for the concession booth, volunteers
to help serve the food and cleanup.
More information and entry forms will be out later this Fall ~Cj Titus
Seminar Scheduled
NAKC will be sponsoring a Pat Trotter Structure & Movement Seminar, Friday
evening (22nd) before our April 23&24, 2011 show. Tentatively we have a
three-hour seminar scheduled. More information, sign up form with fee will be
sent out this Fall. Just remember to mark your calendars to attend. Movement &
Structure is an important part of canine knowledge whether you are breeding, in
conformation, obedience, and/or other performance activities.
